Watch video and photographs: Leopard in Darjeeling town area, had perhaps left pugmarks in snow earlier

A leopard was spotted in Darjeeling town on Monday evening, at Frymal village area, approximately 2 km from the Darjeeling Mall. It is being said by experts that a leopard so close to human habitat is rare, and its movements will need to be tracked.

In December end, when it snowed in Darjeeling town and Tiger Hill area, some leopard pugmarks were seen on the snow. However, it is not known whether it was the same leopard or a different one. Tiger Hill, is much less populated than the main town area.

Take a look at the video shot by a local resident, and photographs of the pugmarks on the snow, shot by an official working in the area.
