KD Singh, former Trinamool MP, arrested by Enforcement Directorate

He was being interrogated in Delhi by the ED

Businessman turned politician KD Singh, was arrested on Wednesday by central probe agency, the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He is a former Member of Parliament of the Rajya Sabha who represented Trinamool Congress. Earlier, Singh also represented the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. He headed the Alchemist Group, that is alleged to be involved in a major chit fund scam. Several complaints were filed against Singh in money laundering cases.

He was called for interrogation in Delhi on Wednesday and was later taken into custody. He may be produced in court today itself, sources said. There are several allegations against him for which investigations are on in Delhi and Jharkhand among other states.

Singh’s company and its subsidiaries were being probed over the past few years in various businesses over the past few years.
