He was killed by armed miscreants in Barrackpore\u2019s Titagarh area on Sunday evening. The police said that \u201call possible reasons\u201d for the murder are being looked into, including \u201cpersonal enmity\u201d as \u201cthe victim was accused in some cases of murder and attempt to murder\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>From its official Twitter handle, the state police wrote: \u201cA person was shot dead last evening in Titagarh area of Barrackpore. Police is investigating the crime and looking into all possible reasons including personal enmity because the victim was accused in some cases of murder and attempt of murder. Please do not jump on conclusion without proper investigation. Irresponsible comments on social media tantamount to interference in the investigation. Please refrain from this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the state\u2019s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) took over the probe charge from the Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, under whose jurisdiction the murder took place. BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya has demanded a CBI probe. Shukla, said to be close to BJP MP Arjun Singh, was with the Trinamool Congress.
