Agnimitra Paul, who heads the state Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) women\u2019s wing, has been showcaused by the party for the comments she had made before the media on December 18.\u00a0Paul did not want to comment on the matter.<\/p>\n
On that day, Paul was quoted in the media making some comments on her party\u2019s senior leadership on the possibility of Trinamool Congress\u2019 Asansol MLA Jitendra Tewari joining the BJP. Another BJP leader Sayantan Basu had also made some comments on the same matter, and he too was showcaused by the party.<\/p>\n
In fact, BJP Union minister of state Babul Supriyo had first gone public on the possibility of Jitendra Tewari joining the BJP. He had expressed his resentment in no uncertain terms. Following this, Agnimitra Paul had come out in support of Babul Supriyo. The showcause letter \u2013 dated December 22 \u2013 has been sent by BJP\u2019s Pratap Bandopadhyay to Agnimitra Paul.
