The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a high alert of heavy squall and thunderstorms across Mumbai over the next 24 hours, advising people to stay indoors.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>IMD predicted the wind speed would hover between\u00a0 45-60 kmph in both cities asking fishermen to avoid sea during this period.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><span class=\"aBn\" tabindex=\"0\" data-term=\"goog_90603921\"><span class=\"aQJ\">On Thursday<\/span><\/span>, several parts of Mumbai including Dadar TT Circle, Elphinstone Road, Parel were flooded after an hour of moderate rainfall raising fears among people of what would happen once monsoon arrives.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Following rain alerts, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) cancelled leaves of its senior officials along with stationing three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Navy personnel in Colaba, Worli, Malad for quick measures. Six Flood Rescue Teams of Mumbai Fire Brigade will be stationed at\u00a0Regional Command Centres.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Kolkata also received pre-monsoon showers following a depression over north Bay of Bengal.
