The Supreme Court on Monday asked the Centre whether it would put a hold on the three controversial farm laws that have led to massive protests near Delhi. \u201cTell us whether you will put the laws on hold or else we will do it,\u201d the court said during a hearing on petitions challenging the laws.<\/p>\n
Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said: \u201cEach one of us will be responsible if anything goes wrong. We don\u2019t want any injuries or blood on our hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
With the Centre asking for more time as discussions and negotiations were on, Justice Bobde said: \u201cWe don\u2019t see you are dealing with this issue effectively\u201d. The Supreme Court said that after the implementation of the laws was stayed, the protest could continue, \u201cbut decide whether you want to carry on the protest on the same site or move to other\u201d. The court said that the situation has gone worse and people have committed suicide, and old and the women were part of the agitation in the cold weather.<\/p>\n
