Narendra Modi will address a public meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haldia of Bengal\u2019s East Midnapore district on February 7 \u2013 the first such meeting ahead of the Assembly elections in the state, scheduled in April-May this year. Modi will be in the industrial town that day to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for some Central government projects and during the visit will also address the BJP rally there. The time of the public meeting has not been finalised yet.<\/p>\n
A core committee of the West Bengal BJP is in Delhi now, including the state party chief Dilip Ghosh, and this is the information they were given on Tuesday evening. Along with Ghosh, new BJP recruits Suvendu Adhikary and Rajib Banerjee were also present at the meeting.<\/p>\n
A day ahead of Modi\u2019s visit, the BJP national president JP Nadda will be in West Bengal, on February 6. He will be back again on February 9. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be in the state on February 11. His earlier visit had been postponed due to a blast in New Delhi last week.<\/p>\n
At the government programmes, Modi may have West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on the same stage, along with Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar and local Trinamool Congress MP Dibyendu Adhikary.<\/p>\n
Since the exit of Suvendu Adhikary from the Trinamool Congress, the dynamics of the party with the Adhikarys seem to have changed. Dibyendu is believed to be preparing for his exit from the Trinamool Congress too and may join the BJP.
