The UGC has written to vice-chancellors of 900 institutions across the country to encourage students to enrol in the \u201cCow Science\u201d exam.<\/p>\n<p>Cow Science exam, also known as \u201cKamdhenu Gau Vigyan Prachar-Prasar Examination\u201d, has now been postponed. It was earlier scheduled for February 25, 2021. No information on the new date is known yet.<\/p>\n<p>According to Jadavpur University Facebook page: \u201cThe University has always upheld a Scientific and Secular form of education since its inception. Holding this examination will be a compromise with its eternal philosophy.\u201d The post also adds that with COVID 19 causing most universities to suffer from lack of funds, teachers feel that research should have been conducted in government funded scientific disciplines. \u201cInstead, the current exam tries to push a particular unscientific philosophy on the current generation of students,\u201d the Facebook post states.<\/p>\n<p>Jadavpur University authorities added portions from the Rashtriya Kamdhenu Aayog (the organising body) study material for the exam, which mentioned that \u201cpeople who had cow dung put on their walls remained unaffected in the Bhopal Gas tragedy\u201d.
