Another person was being treated in a local hospital with severe injuries.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/in-uttar-pradeshs-hapur-man-beaten-to-death-over-rumours-of-cow-slaughter-1870224\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">NDTV<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0 the deceased person Qasim and 65-year-old Samayuddin were beaten up mercilessly by some men who came in bikes in Pilakhuwa village. A video of Qasim gradually collapsing has gone viral after the incident. He was seen lying on the ground and the mob refused to even give him water.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The UP police nabbed two persons in connection with the incident and registered a case of murder. &#8220;Since there are rumours of cow slaughter, we are investigating that angle too,&#8221; said Sankalp Sharma, Hapur&#8217;s senior-most police officer.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>However, a senior police officer Pawan Kumar said Samayuddin&#8217;s family did not mention cow slaughter in the FIR.
