State education minister Partha Chatterjee said on Monday that all classes, including IX to XII will remain closed. Teachers have also been asked to not go to school.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe summer vacations are being re-scheduled and starting with immediate effect due to the rising number of COVID cases,\u201d Chatterjee said, adding that this includes all classes including IX to XII. \u201cOther classes were closed in any case, but from time to time the higher classes were open, and we have decided to close these too,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>No school reopening can be announced until further notification from the state government, he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Schools in West Bengal will be shut down immediately in view of the second wave of COVID.
