West Bengal’s former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday. He was being treated at home after testing Covid positive, but had to be hospitalised as his condition became vulnerable on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
His oxygen level was reported to have dropped below 90 per cent this morning, and doctors advised him to get admitted to a hospital. Bhattacharjee, 77, has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and thus doctors are not taking chances.<\/p>\n
Initially, he was not willing to be taken to hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on May 18. His wife Mira Bhattacharjee had also tested positive last week and was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata.
