The ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal reacted sharply on the Centre recalling chief secretary Alapan Bandopadhyay, and the Centre’s allegations that Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee had kept Prime Minister Narendra Modi waiting at a meeting on Cyclone Yaas on Friday.<\/p>\n
The Central government on Friday evening issued an order to recall Bandopadhyay, hours after a row broke out over the meeting between PM Modi and Banerjee. Just four days ago, Bandyopadhyay\u2019s tenure was extended for three months. The Centre has asked the Bengal government to send Bandyopadhyay to the Department of Personnel and Training\u2019s office in Delhi by May 31 morning.<\/p>\n
Trinamool Congress spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that the Centre is taking resort to vendetta politics, else why should the chief secretary of the cyclone ravaged state that is also fighting the second wave of pandemic be recalled. He said that this was to harm not just the Bengal government but also the people of the state. Ghosh said that the BJP has not yet been able to come to terms with the drubbing in the Assembly polls of Bengal in which Trinamool Congress achieved landslide victory.<\/p>\n
Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra took to Twitter to write: \u201cSo much fuss over an alleged 30 min wait? CPI-ML (Liberation) leader Dipankar Bhattacharya wrote on Facebook: \u201cThe Modi government is behaving like an aggressive imperial power.
