The matter was criticised recently by several states, some experts and was questioned by the Supreme Court in the face of a devastating second wave of COVID-19. Several states have been forced to announce lockdowns despite principally believing that lockdowns are hurting the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
The apex court last week called the Centre\u2019s policy of free vaccines for people who are 45 and above, and paid doses for the 18-44 group, \u201carbitrary and irrational\u201d. The court has asked the Centre to review its vaccination policy and \u201cplace on record a roadmap of projected availability of vaccines till 31 December 2021\u201d.
