West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced that the restrictions prevailing in the state to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic will continue till July 15. However, some more restrictions were lifted today.<\/p>\n

Private and public buses will run with 50 per cent passengers. However, local trains won\u2019t be started right now. App cabs are already available and autorickshaws too will be allowed. Offices — both private and state-run are continuing with partial workforce, and it will continue that way.<\/p>\n

Markets will remain open from 6 am to 12 noon, and other shops will be open from 11 am to 8 pm. Banks will be open from 10am to 2 pm. In addition, beauty parlours and gyms have been allowed to be open from 11am to 6pm with 50 per cent customers.<\/p>\n

Banerjee said that many are still being found to be not wearing masks and strict action will be taken against them. The measures are continuing due to the possible threat of an impending third wave.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
