West Bengal Leader of Opposition \u2013 Bharatiya Janata Party\u2019s (BJP) Suvendu Adhikari \u2013 on Tuesday staged a walkout from the Assembly session following an argument over \u201cNandigram\u201d. Some other BJP members joined him.<\/p>\n
Adhikari had mentioned in the Assembly that Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee had lost to him in Nandigram, and Speaker Biman Banerjee told him that the matter is \u201csubjudice\u201d. Before leaving, Adhikari asked Banerjee why he should stay if he cannot raise the matter in the House. The Nandigram results went in favour of BJP\u2019s Suvendu Adhikari, who won the seat by a margin of 1,737 votes against Mamata Banerjee. Banerjee however, has challenged the verdict in court.<\/p>\n
Adhikari had said today in the Assembly that this is the first time the Assembly is without Congress and Left representatives, and he thanked the people of Nandigram. Later, when Adhikari mentioned the Nandigram elections, state law minister Moloy Ghatak objected before the Speaker. At this point, the Speaker asked Adhikari to speak on something else, stating that he could not speak on \u201csubjudice\u201d matters. At this point, Adhikari ended his speech and walked out.
