The Trinamool Congress is to mark its Martyrs\u2019 Day on July 21 like every year. But this time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bengal too will mark \u201cMartyrs\u2019 Day\u201d in a bid to draw attention away from the ruling party in the state.<\/p>\n
During Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee\u2019s virtual address to her supporters and party workers tomorrow, the BJP will hold a dharna in New Delhi\u2019s Rajghat area to protest the Trinamool Congress\u2019 alleged atrocities on BJP workers in Bengal. West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh will lead this dharna in Delhi from 11.30 am along with other party MPs. The BJP\u2019s Leader of Opposition in Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, will hold a virtual address from the party\u2019s Bengal headquarters in Kolkata. Programmes will be organised from 1.30 pm to 4 pm at BJP\u2019s Muralidhar Sen Lane and Hastings party offices in Kolkata, which will involve Adhikari\u2019s speech and Dilip Ghosh\u2019s virtual address.<\/p>\n
According to BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya, \u201cThough the Trinamool Congress organises Martyrs\u2019 Day, in reality, they are the one leading attack.\u201d The Bengal BJP will thus \u201cremember the sacrifices\u201d of its party workers on this day, Bhattacharya said. He said that from panchayat polls to the Assembly elections and thereafter, 124 BJP workers have been killed in the state. The BJP alleges that the state government and police have not taken any action and are playing a partisan role in probes.
