Trinamool Congress\u2019 Martyrs\u2019 Day programme on Wednesday was telecast live in Delhi and was attended by several top national Opposition leaders like NCP\u2019s Sharad Pawar, Congress\u2019 P Chidambaram, Digvijay Singh among others. Others present were NCP\u2019s Supriya Sule, Samajwadi Party\u2019s Ramgopal Yadav.<\/p>\n
Being a virtual programme, Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee\u2019s speech was telecast live in several parts of the country, including Delhi, Gujarat and Tripura.<\/p>\n
Banerjee called for a national level front to be formed by the Opposition, saying: \u201ca patient, if dead, cannot be revived. So whatever is to be done, must be done as long as the patient is alive.\u201d She said that \u201cpeople will not forgive us\u201d if we do not form a firm Opposition and save the country. She indicated that this is to be done in the Lok Sabha polls 2024.<\/p>\n
The Trinamool Congress has been pitching the programme today as a national event, bringing together important Opposition leaders. Banerjee will be in Delhi later this week, and said a meeting of Opposition leaders needs to be organised during her visit so that a dialogue can be held. \u201cThe more we delay this, the worse the situation of people will be,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
