Six Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha MPs were ordered to leave the Rajya Sabha for rest of the day for \u201cgrossly disorderly\u201d conduct, after they entered the well of the house and displayed placards while protesting over the Pegasus scandal.<\/p>\n
The Rajya Sabha members are Dola Sen, Md. Nadimul Haque, Abir Ranjan Biswas, Shanta Chhetri, Arpita Ghosh and Mausam Noor. Rajya Sabha chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu first asked members to go back to their seats and then said rule 255 would be invoked against them.<\/p>\n
Opposition leaders, including Trinamool members, had gone to the well of the house \u2013 some of them holding placards \u2013 demanding a discussion on the Pegasus spyware allegedly used to snoop on opposition leaders, government critics and journalists.<\/p>\n
After the suspension order, Trinamool MP Derek O\u2019Brien tweeted that opposition MPs would protest at 2 pm. \u201cTwo pm in Rajya Sabha. Today. Come watch the entire Opposition unite against Modi-Shah dictatorship,\u201d he wrote, along with the hashtag #KhelaHobe, the Trinamool\u2019s slogan for the West Bengal Assembly election.<\/p>\n
