After establishing its position well in the politics of West Bengal \u2013 winning three straight terms in the Assembly elections \u2013 ruling party Trinamool Congress is now making inroads into the politics of other states. This may well establish the Trinamool Congress not only technically a national party (which it is) but also make its presence felt on the ground across the country.<\/p>\n
After the party\u2019s Martyrs\u2019 Day on July 21 was marked in several states outside West Bengal, posters and hoardings of Trinamool Congress and party chief Mamata Banerjee has been noticed in many of these states. There is a poster with Mamata Banerjee in Kerala\u2019s Ernakulam with slogans written in English and Malayali. It says: \u201cCall Didi. Save India. Dilli Chalo\u201d. The poster has been written by Kerala Pradesh Trinamool Congress Committee. Earlier, Mamata Banerjee\u2019s posters were seen in Tamil Nadu.<\/p>\n
In the recent past, Trinamool Congress has been increasing its activities in the Northeast \u2013 chiefly in Tripura and Assam. In fact, the Trinamool has already given a call to form a government in that state. There are plans to increase the anti-CAA and NRC protests in Assam where thousands of people have suffered due to the exercise.<\/p>\n
Kerala has been a Left bastion for years, and Trinamool Congress has overpowered the Left regime in Bengal, overthrowing the government of 34 years. Under this backdrop, many in Trinamool Congress feel that the party is in a good position to make inroads into Kerala.
