Eminent writer Buddhadeb Guha, author of many notable works, passed away on Sunday night. He was 85. Guha, died of post-Covid complications at a private hospital in Kolkata after a cardiac arrest.<\/p>\n
Born on June 29, 1936 in Kolkata, Guha had spent his childhood in Rangpur and Barisal districts, now in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n
He was suffering from post-Covid complications and had been hospitalised earlier this month after complaining of breathlessness and urinary infection, according to reports. He had earlier suffered from Covid-19 in April and had been hospitalised for over a month. His wife, renowned Rabindrasangeet exponent Ritu Guha had passed away in 2011.<\/p>\n
Buddhadeb Guha had won awards like the Ananda Purashkar, Shiroman Purashkar and Sharat Puraskar. His works include Madhukari, <\/em>Koeler Kachhe<\/em>, Sobinoy Nibedon<\/em>, Sogotokti, Ektu Ushnotar Jonno <\/em>and stories of popular fictional character Rijuda, a hunter-turned-conservationist.
