Poll strategist Prashant Kishor has said that \u201cthe BJP is not going anywhere for many decades\u201d and \u201cthe problem with Rahul Gandhi is that he does not realise it\u201d. Kishor said this in Goa on Wednesday, indicating yet again that his talks with the Gandhis and the Congress have failed altogether.<\/p>\n
Kishor was seen in a clip from a Q&A session shared on social media, where he said the BJP would remain at the centre of Indian politics for several decades \u2013 whether it wins or loses \u2013 just like it was for the Congress in the first 40 years after Independence.<\/p>\n
\u201cBJP is going to be the centre of Indian polity… whether they win, whether they lose, like it was for the first 40 years for Congress. BJP is going nowhere. Once you secure 30 per cent plus votes at the India-level you are not going away in a hurry. So do not ever get into this trap that people are getting angry and they will throw away [Prime Minister Narendra] Modi. Maybe they will throw away Modi but BJP is not going anywhere\u2026\u201d Kishor said.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cThat is where the problem lies with Rahul Gandhi probably. He thinks it\u2019s just a matter of time that people will throw him away. That\u2019s not happening.\u201d Kishor also said: \u201cUnless you examine, understand and take cognizance of (PM Modi\u2019s) strength, you will never be able to put (in place) a counter to defeat him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, the poll strategist pointed at \u201cdeep-rooted\u201d problems in the Congress, and \u201ccautioned\u201d those who felt that Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra\u2019s move to meet the families of the farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri in Uttar Pradesh would mean a \u201cquick, spontaneous revival\u201d of a Congress-led Opposition force in the country.
