West Bengal chief secretary H.K. Dwivedi on Sunday announced several restrictions for the state in view of the sharp increase in COVID-19 cases.<\/p>\n
Discussing the restrictions, the chief secretary said that there is no need to panic and the government has in place the necessary health infrastructure. \u201cWe have reviewed the situation just a week ago,\u201d he said. \u201cWe have increased facilities in terms of beds and safe homes.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dwivedi said that micro-containment zones will be created in Kolkata and other district headquarters, where number of COVID-19 cases is high. He added that there is no need to panic as \u201cthe bed occupancy is 1.5 per cent.\u201d<\/p>\n
According to the chief secretary, \u201cthose with mild symptoms, please stay home, and they will be called up and given advice over phone on a regular basis\u201d. He added that those with co-morbidities may need to be admitted to hospitals following the doctors\u2019 advice.<\/p>\n
The chief secretary added that owners of industries, factories and mills must ensure all COVID-19 protocols are followed and tests, if required for the employees, are conducted. All vendors and customers in markets have been asked to wear masks and follow other COVID-19 protocols, failing which strict action will be taken.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
