West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said that she had \u201cblocked\u201d Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar from her Twitter account. \u201cI was compelled to do this, because he tags me on his posts every day on various issues, and it is becoming very irritating,\u201d she said at a press conference in Nabanna, the Bengal administrative headquarters. “He has something to say every day, but he does not follow the rules of the Constitution. He has not been releasing files though he cannot do so as per the Constitution,” Banerjee said.<\/p>\n
A furious Banerjee said that Dhankhar was threatening all the senior officers of the West Bengal government about various Central government agencies, and the phones of these officers were being tapped. \u201cHe is not releasing files on serious matters and several service meant for the common people are on hold because of him,\u201d Banerjee said. She added that she had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Governor four times, but nothing was done about the matter. \u201cHe can seek clarifications once, and then when a file is sent with the clarification, he must release it. We have all read the Constitution from class 8,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The chief minister said that the Governor had no right to call officers directly and must address them through the CM as per rule.<\/p>\n
