Saira Shah Halim \u2013 the CPI(M) candidate from Ballygunge Assembly constituency \u2013 who finished second in the bypolls held last week, has responded to Trinamool Congress\u2019 winning candidate Babul Supriyo\u2019s remark on \u201cno class\u201d.<\/p>\n
On winning the bypolls from Ballygunge on Saturday, Supriyo took to Twitter to attack Halim to say: \u201cEven after a filthy deplorable campaign full of lies & deceit @CPIM_WESTBENGAL & Saira Shah Halim shows no class, forget shame. She is taking the same gutter language even after people threw them away in favour of @AITCofficial. BTW, her party remains a BIG ZERO in Assembly.\u201d<\/p>\n
To this, the CPI(M)\u2019s Saira Shah Halim responded by tweeting: \u201cWe believe in a classless society, where rich and poor will not be differentiated by the wealth and property they own. Anyone who judges me as having \u2018no class\u2019, knows what he is fighting against.\u201d<\/p>\n
Supriyo, a former Union minister, quit the BJP and joined Trinamool Congress last year. He won the Ballygunge bypoll by a margin of 20,228 votes. Halim finished second and the BJP\u2019s Keya Ghosh was third.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
