A day after Bharatiya Janata Party leader Dilip Ghosh was assigned positions in the party outside West Bengal, leaders of Trinamool Congress said that the former BJP Bengal chief had been \u201ctreated unfairly\u201d by his own party.<\/p>\n
Trinamool leader Firhad Hakim said that Ghosh had not been valued by the BJP. \u201cThis is an internal matter of their (the BJP) party. However, one must say that Dilip Ghosh was not valued by his party,\u201d Hakim said. The same feeling was expressed by Trinamool\u2019s spokesperson Kunal Ghosh, who said that Dilip Ghosh had been treated unfairly by the party.<\/p>\n
Dilip Ghosh, former BJP\u2019s Bengal chief and currently one of the national vice-presidents of the party, has been given organisational responsibilities in seven states and a Union territory amid talks that he has been taken out of Bengal by the party\u2019s central leadership apparently because he had differences with some others at the helm of the party in Bengal. It is being argued that the party took him out of the state so that the others could take decisions freely.<\/p>\n
Ghosh has been assigned responsibility to strengthen the BJP\u2019s booth organisations in Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Manipur, Meghalaya, Assam, Tripura and Andaman ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. Ghosh will be part of a committee that also includes the party\u2019s national chief JP Nadda and general secretary (organisation) BL Santosh.<\/p>\n
Dilip Ghosh\u2019s term as the Bengal BJP chief ended prematurely after the 2021 Assembly polls. BJP in Bengal is currently led by Sukanta Majumdar. Ghosh is said to be having differences with Majumdar and Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Dilip Ghosh told journalists that he was a man of the organisation and would always remain one. \u201cI\u2019ll carry out whatever duties the party assigns me. Also, I am an MP of Midnapore, and I have work here as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
