West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday blamed the state government for singer KK\u2019s death saying, \u201cthere would not have been more failure of the administration.\u201d The singer passed away in Kolkata earlier this week \u2013 on May 31 \u2013 after a concert at Nazrul Manch.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe death of KK was very painful. Several people have sent me videos and I have seen them. My heart bleeds. There could not have been more mismanagement. There could not have been more failure of the administration,\u201d Dhankhar said.<\/p>\n
The Bengal Governor added: \u201cIf we get into every facet of it, those supposed to maintain the atmosphere there, control the number of people present, in the event of crisis engage in some remedial steps \u2013 there was complete failure. Those supposed to oversee it, must be held accountable,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Preliminary findings from the post-mortem indicate cardiac arrest as cause of death. However, Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president Dilip Ghosh has alleged that the state government gave him a gun salute \u201cout of guilt\u201d. Other BJP leaders have also alleged conspiracy.<\/p>\n
Kolkata Police commissioner Vineet Goyal however said that there was no \u201cstampede-like situation\u201d and at no point was it reported to the police that something was amiss.
