Former Union minister Yashwant Sinha today filed his nomination for the presidential elections scheduled on July 18. He is the Opposition\u2019s candidate and will contest against the National Democratic Alliance\u2019s (NDA) candidate Droupadi Murmu.<\/p>\n
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nationalist Congress Party\u2019s Sharad Pawar, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah, Trinamool Congress\u2019 Abhishek Banerjee, were present to support him. Sinha\u2019s name was announced on June 21 as the Opposition parties\u2019 candidate, following which the NDA announced Murmu as its candidate.<\/p>\n
