Paying homage to the people who fought for India\u2019s Independence, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee today said that Indians must uphold the dignity of the country\u2019s democratic values. She said Indians should preserve the sacred legacy of their forefathers who got the Independence.<\/p>\n

Banerjee took to Twitter on Monday to write: \u201cToday, we pay homage to the supreme sacrifices of our forefathers that led to our country\u2019s independence. We, the people of India, must preserve their sacred legacy and uphold the dignity of our democratic values and people\u2019s rights.\u201d<\/p>\n
