The company has cited persistent inflationary pressures, including rising raw material and logistics costs, as the primary drivers behind this move.

Industry-wide cost pressures

The upcoming price hike marks the third such upward revision by the manufacturer in the 2026 calendar year. Following similar adjustments in January and April, the carmaker stated that escalating expenses in global supply chains—specifically regarding steel, aluminium, and semiconductors—have made it unsustainable to maintain current price levels. The 3 per cent ceiling ensures that while costs will rise, the impact on the final ex-showroom price remains capped for all variants.

Portfolio-wide impact

The revised pricing will apply to the brand’s complete range of Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles and its electric vehicle portfolio. This includes popular models such as the Hector, Hector Plus, Astor, and the flagship Majestor, as well as EVs like the Comet, Windsor, and the premium M9 and Cyberster. Prospective buyers have been advised by industry experts to finalise their bookings before the June 30 deadline to lock in current rates and avoid the impending premium.

A competitive landscape

MG’s decision follows a broader industry trend, with other major manufacturers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Kia also announcing price increases slated for July. As the automotive sector navigates these cost challenges, the frequency of revisions has become more pronounced compared to previous years. For customers, the final week of June represents a limited window to leverage existing pricing, as dealerships prepare to circulate updated lists across the country.

JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike of up to 3 per cent across its entire vehicle portfolio, effective from July 1, 2026.

MG Motor India price hike, MG car price increase July 2026, JSW MG Motor, MG Hector price, MG Comet EV price, MG Windsor EV, MG India news, Auto News, Tech Update, India News Today

5768
6012,6159,5945,6160,6009
post-18405","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-business","tag-automobile-industry","tag-car-prices","tag-indian-economy","tag-jsw-mg-motor","tag-mg-motor
["GET
