The child\u2019s family wanted transfer of the case following rallies in Jammu and Kashmir in favour of the accused.<\/p>\n<p>The apex court will monitor the trial. Moreover, the Court has said that no other court will hear any case on the issue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/kathua-rape-case-trial-will-be-transferred-to-pathankot-says-supreme-court-rules-out-cbi-inquiry-1848365\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">\u201cas we are monitoring it\u201d.<\/span><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0This means there won\u2019t be any hearing of the case in the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in which the accused have sought a CBI investigation.<\/p>\n<p>The child was kidnapped in Kathua in January, drugged, starved and gangraped before she was brutally killed. The accused include two policemen.<\/p>\n<p>The top court on Monday also directed the District and Sessions Judge Pathankot to personally undertake trial proceedings and to ensure the trial is fast-tracked.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers in Jammu had\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndtv.com\/india-news\/kathua-lawyers-blocked-chargesheet-high-court-official-tells-top-court-1843547\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">protested<\/span><\/a> in the court premises and stopped police officers from entering the court for hours to be able to file the chargesheet.
