A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader was arrested by West Bengal police on Monday for his alleged involvement in the abduction of his own 22-year old daughter.<\/p>\n
The police have stated that the arrest of the BJP leader is the outcome of \u2018prima facie\u2019 evidence. Two other men have also been arrested in connection with the incident. The girl had alleged been abducted by two armed youths last Thursday.<\/p>\n
The Bolpur\u00a0additional superintendent \u00a0of police Tanmoy Sarkar spoke to the media confirming that the police had worked on a \u2018tip-off\u2019 which took police teams from North Dinajpur and Birbhum to the North Dinajpur railway station to rescue the abducted girl.<\/p>\n
She was spotted at the railway station on Sunday and rescued from there by police. Stating that the motive behind the abduction could be \u2018political expediency\u2019, the police superintendent added that apart from those arrested, many people associated with the BJP have been \u2018found guilty of fanning violence\u2019 in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
