The Jaish-e-Mohammed had claimed responsibility for the Pulwama terror strike which took the lives of more than 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on February 14. Meant to target terrorist bases and avoid civilian casualties, the air strikes carried out by the Indian Air Force early Tuesday have \u00a0been described to be \u2018non-military and pre-emptive\u2019 by the government as there was \u2018credible intelligence\u2019 that the Jaish-e-Mohammed was planning to deploy more suicide bombers to carry out more terror attacks in India.<\/p>\n
Under this backdrop, speaking to the gathering today which included several ex-servicemen, the Prime Minister stated that he sensed a \u2018fervour\u2019 in the crowd.\u00a0 Describing himself to be the \u2018pradhan sevak\u2019 of the people, Modi added that he would not allow the nation to \u2018stoop\u2019 or \u2018bend\u2019 or \u2018bow\u2019 its head. People in the gathering cheered as the Prime Minister spoke about the country and its people and their pride.<\/p>\n
Saluting \u2018fellow Indians\u2019 and the \u2018armed forces\u2019, the Prime Minister pledged on the \u2018soil\u2019 that he would not let the country perish nor let the country bow down before others. PM Modi\u00a0 thanked the people saying he enjoyed their \u2018support\u2019 and \u2018trust\u2019.<\/p>\n
