Speaking at a programme in the Kala Mandir auditorium on Sunday in Kolkata, the governor recited the lines \u201c<em>Hamari asteen ke sanpoon, humein ab kato maat\/Varna doodh pilane ki jagah maut ki dawat hogi<\/em>\u201d indicating that \u201csnakes in our sleeves\u201d should not bite as they will be met with death if they do, \u201cinstead of being fed by milk\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to the questions raised by the Opposition parties on \u201chow many bombs were dropped\u201d and \u201chow many people were killed\u201d in the air strike conducted by the Indian Air Force (IAF) in Pakistan\u2019s Balakot to decimate Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terror cells, the governor lashed out at the critics of the Central government.<\/p>\n<p>He questioned people \u201cinside and outside the country\u201d who have cast doubts on the success of the Balakot air strike.<\/p>\n<p>Among others in the Opposition, Bengal chief minister and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee has spoken about people\u2019s right to know \u201cdetails\u201d of the air strike following international media reports that questioned the \u201closs of lives\u201d as a result of the air strikes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi criticised those who question the \u201cvalour of the armed forces\u201d and raise \u201cquestions\u201d.
