Maharashtra secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Narasayya Adam \u2013 a central committee member \u2013 has been suspended for three months by the party for delivering a speech at an event in Solapur attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.<\/p>\n
This disciplinary action was taken against him as the CPI(M) believes that Narasayya Adam\u2019s \u00a0participation in the event has \u201ctarnished the party\u2019s image\u201d, according to a statement.<\/p>\n
In West Bengal, of the six Lok Sabha seats currently held by the Congress and the Left Front, the CPI(M) does not plan any \u201cmutual contest\u201d to help generate the maximum traction against the BJP. While in Tamil Nadu, discussions are under way for seat sharing with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), in Maharashtra the CPI(M) is likely to contest in Dindori and Palghar with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). In Bihar, talks are on with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) for the Ujiarpur Lok Sabha seat.<\/p>\n
In Odisha where the Assembly elections are going to be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections, the CPI(M) will contest in Bhubaneshwar and in the Assembly seat of Bonnai.<\/p>\n
