West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was helping the Congress in Murshidabad district to fight the Lok Sabha polls. This is the second time in a week that Banerjee has said this in public meetings.<\/p>\n
Murshidabad district has three Parlimentary constituencies \u2013 Jangipur, Murshidabad and Baharampur. Of this, Jangipur and Murshidabad will go to the polls in the third phase \u2013 on April 23 and Baharampur will go to the polls on April 29, in the fourth phase.<\/p>\n
At an election rally in Murshidabad on Wednesday Banerjee reiterated that the Congress was getting the support of the RSS for the election. Earlier, she had stated that former Prime Minister Pranab Mukherjee had visited the RSS headquarters and his son, Abhijeet, Congress candidate from Jangipur Lok Sabha constituency, was getting support from the right-wing organisation.<\/p>\n
She had said that the same applied to Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Congress candidate from Baharampur. For Chowdhury, the support came from both RSS and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Banerjee alleged.<\/p>\n
The Trinamool Congress chief asked people to not \u201cwaste\u201d their votes by voting for the BJP, Congress and the CPI-M.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis time, Trinamool Congress will help form the government at the Centre, so vote for us. This time, Trinamool Congress will win all three seats from Murshidabad,\u201d she said.
