Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday attacked Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee saying she was arresting people for saying \u201cJai Shree Ram\u201d. He was speaking at a public meeting in East Midnapore\u2019s Tamluk, and was referring to a video of Mamata Banerjee that was circulating on social media on Sunday during her visit to the adjoining district, West Midnapore.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, chief minister Mamata Banerjee was travelling through various parts of Jangalmahal where elections are scheduled for the sixth phase. While she was moving from one election rally to another, she stopped her vehicle on the way, and came out of it on hearing the words, \u201cJai Shree Ram\u201d.<\/p>\n
On seeing her coming out of the vehicle, those shouting \u201cJai Shree Ram\u201d had fled the scene. Banerjee is seen in a video asking \u201cWhy are you running away?\u201d<\/p>\n
Her subsequent words are unclear in the video where the only phrase audible is \u201cgalagali<\/em> dichche<\/em>\u201d (hurling abuses).
