{"id":579,"date":"2018-05-14T16:49:22","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T11:19:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/34.22.110.190\/english\/?p=579"},"modified":"2021-01-05T03:14:14","modified_gmt":"2021-01-04T21:44:14","slug":"modi-government-spends-around-4500-crore-on-publicity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebengalstory.com\/english\/modi-government-spends-around-4500-crore-on-publicity\/","title":{"rendered":"Modi-government spends around 4500 crore on publicity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a response to an Right to Information (RTI) application filed by a Mumbai-based activist,\u00a0 the Central government\u2019s Bureau of Outreach and Communication (BOC) said the Narendra Modi government has spent Rs. 4343.26 crore on publicity\u00a0<span data-term=\"goog_2089857898\">in four years<\/span>\u00a0since 2014, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hindustantimes.com\/india-news\/in-four-years-modi-govt-spent-over-rs-4-300-crore-on-publicity-rti-shows\/story-InEz7kP27hlA5ym9BzAxwI.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\">it was reported.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The activist, Anil Galgali, sought the expenditure details on print media, electronic media and outdoor advertisements from BOC. In reply, BOC&#8217;s Financial Advisor Tapan Sutradhar informed that the government had spent Rs. 953.54 crore in its first nine months \u2013 from June 2014 to March 2015, in which print, electronic and outdoor publicity accounted for Rs 424.85 crore, 448.97 crore and 79.72 crore respectively.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015-16, the expenditure increased to Rs.1171.11 crore, which was followed by an expense of Rs 1,263.15 crore in 2016-17. The following year, the expenses came down to Rs 955.46 crore.
