The \u201cinstant\u201d momos \u2013 being prepared in a factory in Siliguri of north Bengal \u2013 will be available in packets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ready-to-eat momos have been customised keeping in mind the Bengalis\u2019 fondness for it. Instant momos will come in packets and can be eaten after dipping the dumplings in steaming hot water. This entire project is being supervised by the West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Bengalis\u2019 fondness for momos \u2013 whether steamed or fried ones \u2013 can perhaps compete even with biryani. Momos are available in most Chinese restaurants and in stalls almost in every street in Kolkata and even in the suburbs. And just like biryani, the Bengalis are unable to make momos at home. It requires expertise, learning and practice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is exactly why Haringhata Meat sees an immense opportunity of making huge profit in selling instant packaged momos. Earlier too, Haringhata Meat had fared well in similar ventures by selling packaged chicken and goat meat and other unconventional meat \u2013 such as rabbit, quail, emu and so on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An official of West Bengal Livestock Development Corporation said that four types of momos have been prepared keeping in mind both non-vegetarian and vegetarian customers. There is chicken\u00a0<em>tandoor<\/em>\u00a0momo, chicken classic momo, sweet corn momo and\u00a0<em>palak<\/em>\u00a0momo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official said that\u00a0<em>tandoor<\/em>, sweet corn and the\u00a0<em>palak<\/em>\u00a0flavours will strike as unique even to the momo enthusiasts. The packets are priced between Rs. 95-100, he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Packaged momos are already being sold in outlets owned by Haringhata Meat across the state.
