{"id":755,"date":"2018-05-21T12:40:12","date_gmt":"2018-05-21T07:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/34.22.110.190\/english\/?p=755"},"modified":"2021-01-05T03:14:13","modified_gmt":"2021-01-04T21:44:13","slug":"ugc-directs-universities-to-ban-plastic-inside-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebengalstory.com\/english\/ugc-directs-universities-to-ban-plastic-inside-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"UGC directs universities to ban plastic inside\u00a0campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Following an advisory of the Environment Ministry, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has ordered all universities and higher educational institutions to impose\u00a0a ban\u00a0on use of plastic materials inside campuses.<\/p>\n<p>According to UGC, India will be hosting World\u00a0Environment\u00a0Day celebrations on \u201cBeat Plastic Pollution\u201d at the United Nations.<\/p>\n<p>In a\u00a0letter,\u00a0the UGC asked\u00a0all plastic materials including tea and coffee cups, plastic bags, disposable food plates to be banned in campuses. Also, students should be encouraged to use refillable bottles.
