A day after the West Bengal Assembly had to be adjourned for two consecutive days as Governor Jagdeep Dhankar did not clear some bills sent to him by the state government for his signature, he said in an interview with ANI said he would like to visit the Assembly on Thursday. During the day, he went to Calcutta University and spoke about his \u201cdisappointment\u201d on not finding the vice-chancellor present there to receive him.<\/p>\n
Mamata Banerjee and her cabinet colleagues have been saying that Dhankar has been trying to run a parallel government here, which he has denied. In the interview with ANI, the Governor said that he had written to Speaker Biman Banerjee that he wants to visit the Assembly tomorrow, to find out more about the place, including its library.<\/p>\n
During the day, Dhankhar visited University of Calcutta, and later said that there was no one to receive him, not even the vice-chancellor. He added that he had informed the VC about the visit.<\/p>\n
\u201cA regular message was also sent. Next I\u2019m telling you…you\u2019ll be surprised! Mobiles became unreachable, landline was not functional and email bumped off. For all of us, who want to do our duty, cannot be deterred by these things,\u201d he said. The VC\u2019s room was locked and Dhankar sat in another \u201csmall\u201d room, he said.
