Poll strategist Prashant Kishor \u2013 who is working with West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee to work out a winning strategy for her party for the Assembly elections of 2021 \u2013 tweeted on Tuesday criticising his party for voting in favour of the\u00a0Citizenship Amendment Bill.\u00a0Kishor is a senior leader of Nitish Kumar\u2019s Janata Dal United that is part of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).<\/p>\n

Earlier, Kishor had tweeted\u00a0on the National Register for Citizens (NRC) attacking the Centre.<\/p>\n

In his tweet on Tuesday, Kishor wrote, \u201cDisappointed to see JDU supporting #CAB that discriminates right of citizenship on the basis of religion.\u201d He criticised the move saying it was \u201cincongruous\u201d for a party that mentions the word \u201csecular\u201d thrice on the first page of its constitution. Kishor also wondered how a party whose leaders followed Gandhian ideals could support the move.<\/p>\n

In his earlier tweet on the NRC, Kishor had wondered whether BJP had consulted chief ministers of 15 plus states in India \u2013 which have non-BJP chief ministers \u2013 on its implementation.<\/p>\n

Kishor had tweeted then: \u201c15 plus states with more than 55% of India\u2019s population have non-BJP Chief Ministers. Wonder how many of them are consulted and are on-board for NRC in their respective states!!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
