Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said that whoever comes in the way of \u201cefforts of public welfare by an ascetic\u201d will be \u201cpunished\u201d. He said that it was not possible for those \u201cwho have inherited politics\u201d and practice a politics of appeasement understand the meaning of public welfare. Adityanath took to Twitter to say this.
\nHis tweet comes after Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday attacked him on the recent remark in which Adityanath said that \u201crevenge\u201d would be taken against those involved in the vandalisation of public property in UP during the ongoing protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).<\/p>\n
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had said that Adityanath who had donned the saffron attire did not uphold the values that the saffron colour is associated with. She said, \u201cThe chief minister of Uttar Pradesh has worn the attire of a yogi. This saffron doesn’t belong to you. This saffron is a symbol of the religious and the spiritual tradition of India. It is a symbol of Hinduism. Try to follow the teachings of the Hinduism where there is no place for anger, violence, and revenge.\u201d<\/p>\n
