She was speaking at a party workers&#8217; convention in Bankura, when results of the Delhi elections were pouring in and the Aam Aadmi Party was sweeping the polls, positioned well ahead of the BJP. Though the BJP won over 300 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, subsequent state elections have been won by the Opposition parties, and most state governments in the country are now non-BJP ruled states<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Banerjee told her party members and supporters at the programme that BJP got people&#8217;s votes but they were now giving people the National Register of Citizens (NRC), National Population Register (NPR) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). &#8220;They took votes from you and gave you NRC, took away your address, democracy and divided you,&#8221; she said.<br \/>\nBanerjee reiterated today that her party would give more importance to the booth level workers who maintain a close relationship with people and respond to their needs. She said that the grassroots level workers are more important in her party than the &#8220;leaders&#8221;.<br \/>\nBanerjee asked the party workers to maintain a diary with a a list of people&#8217;s grievances and to take timely action on them.
