West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee on Friday attacked both the Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) in the state Assembly. She raised questions about the future of the Congress party, calling them the CPI(M)\u2019s \u201cright hand\u201d.<\/p>\n
Banerjee said that \u201cit had been proved now that the Congress is the right hand of the CPI(M)\u201d. \u201cThis is the reason I had quit the Congress party,\u201d she said. The Trinamool Congress chief said that the Congress party had headed towards a zero all over the country. “Wherever there is presence of a regional party, they are defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)” Banerjee said, adding that in areas where regional parties were not strong enough, the Congress was managing to get some votes due to the protests of the regional parties.<\/p>\n
