He suffered a cardiac arrest. He was 61.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by wife Nandini and daughter Sohini. Pal had been suffering from various ailments for the past two years.\u00a0He was in Mumbai to visit his daughter. He complained of chest pain at the Mumbai airport &#8212; as he was returning to Kolkata &#8212; and was rushed to a hospital where he passed away early on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Born on September 29, 1958, Tapas Pal debuted in the Bengali film <em>Dadar Kirti <\/em>in 1980<em>, <\/em>which was a superhit film that made him a household name. His other films include <em>Saheb<\/em>, <em>Bhalobasha Bhalobasha<\/em>, <em>Anurager Chhnowa<\/em>, <em>Gurudakshina<\/em> among others.<\/p>\n<p>He has been an MP for two terms from Krishnagar and an MLA from Alipore representing Trinamool Congress. Pal was arrested in 2016 by the Central Bureau of Investigation for his alleged involvement in the Rose Valley scam. He was granted bail after 13 months.
