The Supreme Court-appointed mediators for the Shaheen Bagh protesters on Wednesday said that they wanted to talk to the protesters in private and later announce the outcome.<\/div>\n
The protest at Delhi\u2019s Shaheen Bagh is being held against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) since December 15.
\nThe apex court on Monday appointed two senior lawyers to talk to the Shaheen Bagh protesters on the issue of shifting their protests elsewhere. Senior advocates Sanjay Hegde and Sadhana Ramachandran will talk to the protesters and try to convince them to move the protest to some other location as it was alleged in petitions filed by the locals that the ongoing protest was causing road blockade during the rush hours of the day.
\nTwo petitions were filed on this issue demanding the removal of the protesters.
\nRamchandran was quoted in reports saying: “Media is certainly a part of our society. We will report everything to the media, but first, we want to talk to the protesters privately.” The protesters, however, wanted the meeting to take place in presence of journalists.<\/div>\n
