Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said that the meeting called by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Delhi clashes has been “positive”.
\nA meeting was called by Shah on Tuesday after seven people including a Delhi Police constable were killed in violent clashes in Delhi on Monday over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The meeting was attended by representatives of all political parties and the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi.
\nKejriwal said that the Home Minister has assured of deploying sufficient police forces as and when required and that all the political parries have agreed to act towards the common interest of stopping the violence in Delhi.
\nOver 48 police personnel have been injured along with nearly 100 other people in yesterday’s violence in Delhi. There were fresh incidents of stone pelting in Brahmapuri and Maujpur localities of Delhi on Tuesday morning following which the Delhi Police took out a flag march in the area.
\nThe chief minister also told journalists before the meeting that the borders of Delhi need to be sealed as outsiders were infiltrating into the city and causing trouble.<\/div>\n
