Various measures are being taken to check the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in West Bengal. Though no confirmed cases have been found in the state, with the figure reaching 110, precautionary measures are important.<\/div>\n
The state\u00a0government has ordered officials to do a mandatory medical check-up of everyone entering the state through the borders of five neighbouring states sharing their borders with West Bengal. Monitoring has been increased at all the 78 inter-state checkposts across the state.<\/div>\n
Since Sunday midnight, movement across all nine international land checkposts in the state was restricted.
\nThe Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) has decided that all swimming pools run by it will be kept closed till March 31.
\nSeveral temples like Kolkata’s Dalkshineswar Kali temple, Kalighat temple and Belur Math in Howrah have restricted visitor entry. The temples are either allowing entry in small batches or one at a time to prevent large gatherings.
\nBelur Math has suspended distributing prasad among\u00a0devotees. The authorities have placed giant LED screens in its premises through which devotees can watch the daily\u00a0arati.\u00a0<\/i>Posters have been put up across the Belur Math premises to make people aware of the steps to be taken to check COVID-19.
\nAmong Kolkata’s attractions, Victoria Memorial Hall, Indian Museum, Science City and Birla Industrial and Technological Museum (BITM) have closed their gates to visitors. However, people are free to enter the garden in Victoria premises till now. The Alipore Zoo has asked all its workers to wear gloves and masks and is spraying the vehicles carrying animal feed into the zoo with germicide.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
