The remaining Higher Secondary examinations \u2013 which were to be held from 29 June \u2013 have now been rescheduled.<\/p>\n
The examinations will be conducted on 2, 6 and 8 July, state education minister Partha Chatterjee said on Tuesday. The Higher Secondary examinations were being conducted from March 13, but the last few papers \u2013 which were scheduled to be held on March 23, 25 and 27 \u2013 had to be postponed indefinitely at that point due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the subsequent lockdown and closure of educational institutions.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the state government had announced on May 19 that the examination will be held from 29 June. However, the lockdown will continue in the containment zones throughout the month of June. Also, many school buildings in the state have been damaged due to the cyclone Amphan. As a result, 116 exam centres need to be shifted elsewhere.\u00a0Under the circumstances, the schedule of the examinations had to be changed again.<\/p>\n
Chatterjee said that students will be allotted centres closer to their homes, so that they don\u2019t have to travel long distances to their centres.\u00a0Students must maintain social distancing norms and use sanitizers and wear masks while writing their papers.<\/p>\n
