Actor Navneet Nishan confirms she ended years of harassment in the hands of actor (thought to be Alok Nath) by slapping him
Actor Navneet Nishan has supported writer-director-producer Vinta Nanda who gave a detailed account of being raped by an actor known as “the most #Sanskaari (Cultured) person in the film and television industry”. Nishan
also confirmed the harassment she faced at the hands of the actor, though she did not name him.
Though Nanda did not name the actor who had raped her, Twitter and Facebook users quickly identified the actor as Alok Nath. Nanda on Monday had written a long post on her ordeal 19 years ago when she was raped by the actor. She had mentioned in her post that the lead female actor of Tara (played by Navneet Nishan) used to be constantly harassed by the lead male actor (played by Alok Nath).
“I emphathise with the TV writer-producer for the terrible pain she has gone through; it is unimaginable. I dealt with the four year harassment by slapping the man in question and it is done and dusted,” she said without naming the actor. She said she had suffered the loss of the show and was further shamed by the man through media. “I endured that,” she said. She told PTI: “I am immensely glad that the power trip and sexual dominance coming from this power is being called out. It is high time.”
